Buddhipongse Punnakanta, in-charge of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society stated that the ministry has shut down 1457 URLs that have been running online gambling.
The minister stated that 140 people have also been arrested for involvement in operations of those websites and for rotating Bt21.7 billion worth of money.
He added, “In the past three months, the ministry has been working with the Royal Thai Police’s Technology Crime Suppression Division to find online gambling websites and shutting access to them, in an effort to solve the problem of online gambling in Thailand, in keeping with Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha’s policy”, reported The Nation Thailand.
